MTHE bids farewell to three students for further studies in the Republic of Serbia

The Ministry of Technical and Higher Education has on 2nd June, 2021 formerly presented air tickets to three students in pursuit of Undergraduate and Master's degree in the Republic of Serbia.

 

After rigorously going through the application procedures and interview sessions, James Dauda fairly became the successful candidate to pursue M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics while Doris Augusta Tarawally and Massah Daboh were awarded scholarships to pursue  B.Sc. in General Medicine.

 

Deliberating on the importance of the event, the Chief Technical and Higher Education Officer in the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Josephus Brimah, expressed his gratitude to the Serbian Government for having offered Sierra Leone such a great opportunity, noting the Ministry's commitment to investing in the country's human capital through educational service delivery. He congratulated the awardees and admonished them to take their work seriously and represent Sierra Leone well. 

 

In his statement, the Deputy Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Mr. Sarjor Aziz Kamara, attributed the event to the advancement of career prospects of the country's young people. He expressed his delight over Serbian Government's commitment to supporting education in the country, noting the uniqueness of the scholarships with a deliberate drive by Sierra Leone's Medical Corps to enhance capacity building. He encouraged the Awardees to be true Ambassadors of Sierra Leone throughout their stay in Serbia, admonishing them to continue to exhibit the excellence that earned them the scholarships with a view to coming back and contribute to national development. The Deputy Minister officially presented the travelling tickets to the three Awardees.
